Sewing Scraps
I am having Internet connection problems.
I am sewing the scraps from the Daisy Doodle and the Pinwheel Star quilts together. Since both were from the 1930 fabric thought I could do another scrappy. I started doing the Crossroads quilt. Here is 1 block finished. I would hate wasting this lovely fabric, just having it lay around.I have alot of cutting and sewing to do on this one. I will make it a large throw or twin size. I should have enough white and print fabric, well let's hope I do.
The Daisy Doodle is still on Amy's HQ16 for quilting.

I AM DONE!!!!!!!!
I finished my Daisy Doodle quilt top. I knew I had to stick to it to get it all completed.
I LOVE IT. hahaha I say that about every quilt I make. This one if it is big enough will go on my bed. If not I will put it on the back of the sofa. I still have to iron the backing and sew it together.
Tomorrow I will run to Joann's and get king size batting. I have to talk to my Amy and see when will be a good time to bring it over and load it up on the HQ16. It sure is nice to have a mid arm in the family. I think I will scallop the border too. The binding will be different fat quarters to continue the look of being a scrappy. The backing is just white on white fabric. I started cutting out the blocks on June 14th. That makes it 36 days to finish the top.

Before I start another big project I have a few little ones I need to get done. I am doing a block exchange For that one I need 12 signature blocks. Another I am joining in making a log cabin quilt. I need to make a few blocks for that one. After those little projects are completed I will start another quilt, But not a queen or king size.

ALMOST!!!!!
This is about the time where I beat myself up and just HAVE to get the quilt top finished.
I don't know why but when I get past the half way point I go into Ultra Speed Mode. I can't stop I have to keep sewing. I put everything aside and go go go til it is done. LOL. I have the backing in the washer now, getting it ready.
I have 12 rows done. Only 4 more then just 1 border. I won't be able to relax, my mind will keep going back to the quilt til I finish the top. I do this with just about anything I do. I have to finish. I guess that is the reason I don't have many UFOs . I have the one I am hand applique when I am waiting at the Dr's. office. I have one of Amy's that is different shades of brown and one I have different members of the family write their names and occupations. I am hoping to get at least one of them finished this year. But each of those quilt I knew they would be a long process.

Daisy Doodle
I finished 1 more row on my Daisy Doodle quilt. That makes 7. Amy laughs at me cause I told her when we first started to learn to quilt I loved scrappy quilts. The last 2 I made have been scrappy. I love the 1930 fabrics too.The more I see them the more I like them. Amy put her name in for this quilt when I kick the bucket. It is not even finished yet. lol
I have been wanting to make Abby a harness. I made this to match her collar. You can hardly see it because of her fur.
She looks pretty in Pink.
You can tell she didn't like up on my cutting table. I was trying to adjust the straps. Amy and Jacob stopped by on Sunday. Look how big Jacob is getting. 15.5 pounds . Check out his chunk legs. I started calling him the "Michelin Man"Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Abby's Crate
While I was measuring and sewing the bumper pads for Abby's crate she was worried when I closed the door. When I reopened it she went running in and laid down. It was like to tell me : Mommy stop fooling around with my bed!!!

It's All About Abby
Abby went to the hair dressers today. I told Paige to cut her short this time because it is so hot here in Houston. Paige does such a great job. here is Abby in her New Do. It is also going to be easy to take care of for maybe 2 months.
I have been reading more about crating a dog. We have been using a crate since we got Abby. But lately I have been reading about covers for them. They say dog think of the crate as a den. Looking on the Internet I found covers and most were pretty pricey. I thought I could make my own. We put Abby's crate in our bedroom and the color scheme is burgundy. Here is Abby's crate. I thought it was cozy and cofy. A nice thick blanket and her personal pink blankey and a small toy in the corner. Now I made this yesterday. At night we will put down the front. All the while I was measuring and sewing Abby was watching closely what was Mommy doing to her crate.
I am not done. Today I want to make bumper pads for the inside. Also I may make a cover the the blanket so it will all match. I saw this all on a web site and thought how cute is that. lol. Of course it is all about Abby; she gets only the best. My Little Spoiled Girl.
