Look Who Arrived Today, Elf
Isabella arrived. You know it is the Christmas season when Santa sends out his elves, making sure we are all well behaved. :)
We are going to call her Izzy for short we must be on our best behavior now. Santa is watching.

More Doilies
I have been crocheting more doilies
I maded 2 of these. The pattern is froman older pattern booklet called Living Well. May-June 1998 Quick and Easy Doilies just named "Blue".
I used a size 7 hook and size 10 Bridal Blue thread,( it is very light blue). They are 14 inches across. I made my edge pointed instead of rounded, gives it a different look.
I may do the pink one as well , we will see. I like them both.

Crochet Jacket
I finally finished my crochet jacket. I got the patterns from www.maggiesCrochet.com. its is simply called :Shell Edged Jacket. This is so simple. I could hardle believe it.
Living in Texas near the Gulf it really don't get that cold. And if it does it doesn't last long. I haven't bought a winter coat in over 20 years.
This is really enough for me here. what I like about it its long, you can almost call it a coat. I made it a size larger so I could wrap myself if I needed it. if i make it again I wouldn't make it larger. It is actually alittle tooo big but that's ok.

Measuring Tape Cover
I can hardly believe it is November already. Where did this year go? How fast time flies by when you are having fun. For November (our last month for the sew along) over at Liz Sew Along
http://liz-moments.blogspot.com/2012/11/sewingroom-sewalongtape-measure-cover.html
We are to make measuring tape covers. As always she has posted some lovely patterns. Since I am in this "crocheting mode" I crochet one for myself.
I just made a simple rose 4 layers of petals, then on the 5th layer I crocheted a circle of single crochets the size of my measuring tape (if and when I make another I would probably make another layer of petals to make the rose larger.
The bottom is just a circle of single crochets the size of the measuring tape and I crochet them together with half double stitch. The leaf is made from mint green and sewn to the pull tab.
