Monday

I love having the boys as much as I can. They are having breakfast Saturday morning here. Waffles and orange juice. They always want to eat in the living room with their pappy.

Tim found a little time to work on my sewing table over the weekend. He was able to put the drop leaf on. This will give me another 2 feet for when I sew a quilt it won't be dragging on the floor. With it open it will make my table 8 feet long total.

Friday

I didn't get a chance to start quilting Tim and Lori's quilt . I had my grandson Harley for half the day. In the morning I headed over to Hancock Fabrics. I love it when they have their patterns on sale for .99 cents. I picked up 5 and a 2 fat quarters.

I did finish the little umbrella. I think these can be addicting to make they are easy and would make great little gifts for any person.

After playing out side I brought Harley inside. He sat down on his little sofa and not a minute later he was out. He is constantly moving. Can you tell he love Thomas the Train, he carries these books around all the time. I gently woke him up and asked him if he wanted to eat; we had lunch. After lunch he had his nap for almost 3 hours.
PS. I don't know why yahoo loaded the pictures up sideways. Sorry about that.

Star Quilt

I finished sewing the top. today I will begin to quilt .
This quilt is 60X72 The pattern was from Easy Quilts Spring 2008, called "One Block Star". And yes it was very easy.
I also manage to sew these darling little "Umbrella Pincushions".
When I saw these I knew I just had to have these. A dear friend in Israel made up the pattern thru much trial and error. These are my first attempt.
I am not finished with this one.

Tablecloth

I finally finished my daughter's table cloth. She put it on her table last night.

I also finished a crocheted bag using Walmart plastic bags. I don't know why sometimes the picture turns, sorry about that.

I made a little bird pincushion too.

I love finishing up odds and ends.

Sewing Table

Tim worked longer than he thought. He finished 2 more drawers. All the drawers are finished. I can't believe how nice this is coming together. Tim has really worked hard on this table.
Again he has learned what not to do and what he should have done. But I can't tell. it looks wonderful. I am pleased as punch. He said he has to make some stops for the drawers. I don't know what is next but I am sure anxious to get it in my sewing room. I know patience, patience! I do know the extra 2 ft. extension has to go on. this is going to be well worth the wait.

Garage Sale Finds

I made this recycled bag from an old T shirt. Cut off the sleeves , sew the bottom closed about 20 inches long , then cut open the neck wider. It could even hold more than what I put in .

I usually don't go to garage sales. I was walking out of my house and down at the end of my street I was a neighbor having a sale. I thought since it was on my street I should at least go down. To my surprise I hit the Jack Pot. lol well I think I did. Now Tim may think differently. I found these old shelves I thought hmmm I could put these in my new sewing room. Goodness the price was right. With a little cleaning and maybe some white paint. I got this little shelf for $1.00.

This one for $2.00 and this one for $3.00

Then I found this for $6.00 I may use it in the boys room as a night side on Harley's side. I only had 1 night table in there on Dylan's side. I don't think it will fit in the sewing room.

Making Another Quilt

I started cutting out another quilt for my nephew Tim and his wife Lori

My dog Samy has a "hot spot"on his back leg. Poor thing, now he thinks he is an invalid cause I wrapped it so he wouldn't keep licking it.

Tim is making progress on my sewing table. He made 1 drawer. It looks really good. I am so pleased. For not any plans, I think this is turning out GREAT!!!!!

Finished, Finito, Fetig

Whatever language you want to say it; I completed my nephew's quilt.

I also belong to an International Pincushion Group. We have pincushions swaps and this month was a BIRD PINCUSHION. A great lady from the UK sent me this lovely bird pincushion, The picture just doesn't do it justice I wish it would come out better. The hand work is just beautiful. I was very lucky to be on the receiving end of this swap. the fabric was even hand dyed. The needle case was embroidered by hand. Just wonderful handiwork. I also received a little pincushion, pins and thread.

Getting Things Finished!

I am getting things finished; at least seeing the light at end of the tunnel.
I am in the process of quilting my nephews quilt.
I painted the shelves for my sewing room
I am crocheting the edging on Timmi's tablecloth. I think by the weekend I will be finished with the tablecloth and quilt. 3 rows left on the tablecloth.
I even made an adorable airplane pincushion. Since my better half works for the airlines I thought it would be perfect.
Dylan Austin also had his FIRST T-ball game last night. Watching 3 year old's play ball was a blast. Here are a few pictures. The daddy's are allowed out on the field as long as they don't touch the ball. Daddy Dylan just made it to the game after work.
Dylan did great. He caught a few balls and hit twice. These two pictures are when he just hit his first ball and then running to first base.

The movie is Dylan running to home base the first time. one is his second

The second little video is Dylan hitting the ball his second time to the plate

Progress

The last 2 days have been busy, occupied with Father's Day and our anniversary. But some things have been making progress. I am down to crocheting the border, the last 4 rows of Timmi's tablecloth. I finished sewing my nephews quilt top. It needs pressed and get ready to quilt. I am making pads for my new sewing table for my machines. One is finished the other almost done. Tim has even made some progress on my table over the weekend.
